About Us

Founded in Indonesia in 2015, MYCL (Mycotech Lab) is a pioneering bio-material startup established by five co-founders with diverse expertise spanning architecture to biotechnology. Their core mission centers on utilizing mushroom mycelium as a natural adhesive to develop high-performance materials. By collaborating with local mushroom farmers, the company upcycles agricultural waste and organic fibers into robust, lightweight, and customizable products that challenge traditional manufacturing norms.

The company’s innovative product range includes BIOBO, a structural board manufactured entirely without chemical adhesives, and MYLEA, a sustainable leather alternative cultivated from mycelium. Another key offering, MYCL Composite, serves as a highly versatile material capable of being molded into any form—from structural components to artistic installations—while offering superior thermal insulation and sound-absorbing qualities. Pushing the boundaries of bio-innovation even further, MYCL has developed Mylea Sea, a 100% algae-based biopolymer that is completely free of plastics.

MYCL is committed to realizing the limitless potential of a circular economy by converting waste into valuable, high-end resources. This dedication to technical excellence and sophisticated design has garnered prestigious global acclaim. In 2023, Mylea was honored with Japan’s Good Design Award (G-Mark), while MYCL Composite was recognized with the Best Design award at Good Design Indonesia, solidifying the company's status as a leader in the global shift toward sustainable craftsmanship.
